Agenda

The event features a powerful agenda and lineup of speakers on the theme Developing Confidence and Assertiveness in Masculine Dominated Workplaces: 

  • Marit Bouwmeester: former Olympic champion offers her perspective in thriving in competitive environments, and her personal experience as a female professional player in a sport historically in the spotlight for men.
  • Jason Jie: offers his expert perspective on DEI in large corporates and hosts a training followed by an interactive role-play exercise to empower the audience with tools to increase their self-confident in respond to undesired behavior and challenging situations in the workplace.
  • Pannel discussion: where leaders from different areas and industries will discuss their perspective on empowering female traits in masculine-dominated environments, and their view on how to break the glass ceiling through success stories of women who have overcome those challenges.

The day will be facilitated by Marina Paulon da Costa, Deloitte’s Treasury Consulting & Advisory lead.

Key note speakers

Marit Bouwmeester | Olympic Champion

Marit won the gold medal in the Laser Radial class in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and again in the Laser Radial class at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, and the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in Weymouth. In 2017, she won the World Sailor of the Year Award. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo 2021, competing in Laser Radial and winning the bronze medal. Her two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal make her the most successful female sailor at the Summer Olympics.

Jason Jie | Researcher and DEI Specialist

With over 12 years of experience in change management in organizations and as accredited Inclusive Leadership Assessment coach for global senior leaders, Jason is also an author and public speaker on DEI. His experience includes the moderation of various round tables in large organizations, keynote speaker and facilitator at the United Nations Taskforce on Gender Equality and co-author and speaker at the Accelerate 50/50 event at International Women’s Day for Women in the Financial Sector (WIFS).
